May be! As I said before, DAC17 which use old generation DAC is not as sharp as DAC19 thta use new generation DAC.
But I like DAC17 more, it suit my taste. |

When I received it, I let it on for about 2 weeks, (14 x 24 = 336 hrs)
However, for better "boiling", you need to connect a digital audio source to it.
For me, I used a cheap VCD player to play a Run-IN CD repeatly for 2 weeks.
You may keep the DAC on, but the power consumed by DAC17 is much higher than other DAC, you may need to pay a higher electricity bill for it.
However, there is a design life of the e-cap, keep it on may shorter the life-span of those e-caps, especially in high-temp condition. |

Yes! Just like Pure Class-A Amp, you need to let the DAC17 heat up itself.
Don't touch the case afterwards, cause it is quite hot! (45-50 degree in my DAC)
In addition, I think 150 hrs is not enough, please boil it for 300-400 hrs in total. |

Mr ho said just boiled about 40 hrs, so I think it need about 100 hrs additional boiling.
balance sound, anaylsis, 動態, airly are better than my cdp but not too much, overall sound is good, I will 耐心 boil it.  |

Before Mr. Ho delivery the product, usually he will "boil" it for about 100hrs.
But Ithink at least you need to "boil" for additional 250 hrs

Please note that the "mod" we are talking is not like normal mod that replace some component with other brand name or type used.
It is just change the value of some component (adjust the operating point the the whole circuit).
If you trust Mr. Ho (the designer), just tell him your "taste" and let Mr. Ho design the circuit to suit your "taste".
Or you went to China and listen to Mr. Ho's DAC17 with standard design and then tell him how you want to be adjust the sound. |

Cause every DAC17 is build-to-order and hand-made, so you need to wait.
Don't worry, it takes me two months to received my DAC17.

For DAC17, Yes! There is no need to mod.
However, since Mr, Ho cannot get good connectors in China
(like IEC power connector, RCA connector and Balanced Connector)
If you really want to use those High-end connectors, you can mail them to him and ask him to use it in your DAC17.
In addition, you can tell Mr. Ho what is your "taste" of music and he can modify it (with adjustment ot value of component) to suit your taste. |
