I attended the demo show today too.
I totally agree with you. The show was not quite impressive given the price of the projector. The dark scenes were not quite dark anyway.
The colour was not quite brilliant, at least not far better than recently released D5 projectors.
Can you tell me why you chose 1100 vs. 3100. Is the difference not distinct in terms of image quality? And how much did you get it? As I'm thinking seriously about switching to dlp.

今日去睇HC5000 DEMO, 無乜驚喜, 用FULL HD PANEL播HD DVD, 畫質我覺得並不比一直睇開既DVHS有明顯優勢, 講者只能指出某一畫面既某一背景/物件既某一紋理清晰與否來突出部機既優點! 試問除左發燒友, 一般家庭用戶平時睇戲又邊有咁好眼力睇到咁DETAILS?
睇來而家投影機技術已經相當成熟, 肉眼睇到既分別好有限, 只可以靠同場AB比較, 或者測量儀器既數據來分高低! |

In my opinion, if you do not need lens shift function, go for HC1100. |

But only I have limited budget $15k...including projector, screen, cable and installation fee...  |

Any high hand can give me some advice that I should go for Mitsubishi's new HC1100 of Sanyo Z5. I think the price and quality are similar, what will I do??
