so far, the KR iamm still can't display Traditional Chinese subtitle correctly.  maker says no upgrade plan for this function..... 
thus I use a utility, ConvertZ, to change Simplified Chinese to Tra Chinese. it's very fast and works.  |

I use Super and Avisynth scripts.
Super delivers very good picture quality however the material generated is somewhat unstable and gives rise to stutter effect. I have to correct and fix the file by Avisynth.
The whole process takes around 8 hours per movie and it is not that bad as you can batch up the jobs in Super. So just line them up and let the PC does the job.
I have no experience in encoding x264 to TS/TP. |

TVIX 5100 is the next model but I doubted whether the Sigma chip set they use will be good enough to render VC-1. Must tried before buy.
I am tired of trailing behind the next model and then the next model all the time. This is the manufacturer's strategy to make money. That is why I am using the software encoding approach to protect my interest especially when the encoding result is very satisfactory.
Dundee Boy.. do you mean you want to convert MKV to WMV? Yes, there is a way to convert using WMV-encoder-8 or 9. |

Kevin-Cc, FYI, a new version Tvix 5100 should be out next month. This new version support H264 and VC-1 and HDMI. It's better for you to wait for this one if you really want to watch HD contents. |

Hi All,
I am using TVIX m5000A. I am pretty happy with the machine except I found out lately that it does not support AAC audio file even though it calimed that it can. This is no big convern to me as most of the movie files are not in AAc anyway, but just a note if you are interested.
The current model does not support MKV/x264. I have to re-encode the x264 material to AVI/xvid and I am very happy with the qaulity of encoded files. I test play them with projector as well as 32 inches LCD TV, I simply do not notice any quality lost.
I have experimented many tools and spent a lot of time on the encoding process since I do not want to restrict playing the MKV/x264 files only on the PC using KMPlayer. I would like to use the media player as well. |

I am in 1080p , H264 ? remux etc new high D formate those ripped from blue ray and HDDVD, but no media player suport them all.
I had a KMV movie 1080P , can only watch with Computer.
I think it may need a new htpc for new coming formats, media player cannot help!!  .
BTW I already have a IPDVD to play ts |

i am using IAMM brand from Korea. it is ok. can get it from computer centres. $2400 with no hard disc. you need to pay extra for the hard disc. about $550 for 250G. Good luck! |
