Yuppi hing,
I tried to upgrade the DSP and burn a CD to upgrade it. The process goes smooth but at the last i.e. the writing 3 st DSP then S/PDIF update... flashing for long time. What's the problem of that? I find when the amp is still writing 3rd DSP, the player already stopped.

唔係,我諗破個腦都諗唔到,居然係條線既問題,USB->RS232呢條線好壞諍好遠,
原來係果個 RS232接頭加佐蕊片,唔怪得咁貴!係條線對805相唔相容既問題,亦都可以講係果個蕊片穩定同相容既問題~~~~ |

Yuppi hing,
I know there is a risk to upgrade by myself so I need to know how big difference of the version I want to upgrade. Take it the the dealer is the best and safest way to achieve it but you know it is too heavy to take it. Of course the dealer can take it and it charges so I want to know how it worths to spend money on this.
Once again, thanks for your reply for how big difference between the version of 1.07 and 1.09?

update firmware 有一定程度風險, 如果對電腦不熟識真係吾好試, 香港 ONKYO 提供免費 update, 建議交由代理 update. |

What's the RS232 cable? is that the one to connect between the PC and the monitor?
Is that big difference between the version of 1.07 and 1.09?

今日又有突破,點MAIN UPDATE唔會無反應,但係805會顯示SEARCH F/W.....
咁就無哂反應?唔知正常SEARCH F/W到出現數據顯示要幾耐?我等佐成10分鐘,
都沒數字跳?! |

先打開電源,在開著電源時.先按著DISPLAY.再按住STAND ON,就會出現MAIN FIRMWARE 應係1.08,再按面版TONE既右方向鍵,你應會睇到DSP1版本,
再按二次分別睇到DSP2,DSP3,我自己UPDATE的DSP分別係SR8051/8214A,SR8052/7518A,SR8053/07820A,唔知你係唔係一樣? |

Onkyo has specially stated 1.06 and 1.07 will not be released to users or service centers for upgrades. They also will not release any information on what the updates do, beyond commenting that it does not alleviate the problems that have users so unhappy (audio delay, HDMI issues, etc.).
Onkyo also commented on the "firmware fiasco" that happens over here on AVS by users passing around the upgrade between each other. They do not want a repeat and thus will not let lose any more upgrades in the wild. This also explains why Joerod fell off the planet and is no longer commenting on firmware updates.
