Having xvYCC on is requesting the larger gamut. So, it wouldn't be a suprising if it provided it.

Just got an email from my ISF calibrator, who has a contact at Silicon Optix. About a half hour ago he got an email from his contact who said that there is a new firmware update from Onkyo which addresses the color space selection issue. So apparently the decoding problem is a known issue at Onkyo, and they now have a fix available.
Now all we have to do is get it. I'll get in touch with my dealer and start the process. |

I think ONKYO HK is just learning that AV amp today is not the same as before where software bugs is a norm when you have so many functions, processor inside the amp. Its just not capacitors, resistors and power supply anymore. Everything nowadays need software to control and software will always have bugs. |

算啦,我地這把安橋用家,今次咪當中一次計囉!!都可能是最後一次了,我是第一次買安橋,但都可能是最後一次,邊有d代理會咁寸先得架,佢可能覺得今次食左頭啖湯,多人買,就可以不理d客了,那佢地唔好再出新機,冇人買新機,就不會有人投訴,叫佢地做野啦!!係咪!! |

宜家最大問題係因為 onkyo 吾提供 firmware, 所以先至有所謂 "unofficial firmwares upgrade"...其實個 "unofficial firmwares upgrade" 咪又係 onkyo出既, 部機有問題出新 firmware update 係好正常, PS3 係一個好例子, 如果部部 PS3 都吾同 firmware, 而 SONY 又吾俾 firmware 你 update, 你估仲有冇人會買  |

Onkyo HK should have reported such issues to Onkyo Japan who didn't know anything about the firmwares upgrade. Most likely their reply to Onkyo HK is the same reply to you. How could Onkyo HK promise to provide such services to you? They afraid of the consequence or defects (such as system hang up) caused by unofficial firmwares upgrade. |

They are passing the "ball" back to Onkyo HK. 
I think the upgrade firmwares are probably developed by Onkyo USA alone. That's why Onkyo in Japan or HK didn't want to confirm such firmwares upgrade would solve the problem. They dont want to handle product return or repair because of any malfunction caused by consumers' unofficial firmwares upgrade. On the other hand Onkyo HK dont want to provide such firmwares upgrade even though they know it because even Onkyo in Japan knows nothing about the firmwares upgrade.
Becareful of the firmwares upgrade, Onkyo HK may not provide repair services because of any defects caused by unofficial firmwares upgrade. |

Onkyo has specially stated 1.06 and 1.07 will not be released to users or service centers for upgrades. They also will not release any information on what the updates do, beyond commenting that it does not alleviate the problems that have users so unhappy (audio delay, HDMI issues, etc.).
Onkyo also commented on the "firmware fiasco" that happens over here on AVS by users passing around the upgrade between each other. They do not want a repeat and thus will not let lose any more upgrades in the wild. This also explains why Joerod fell off the planet and is no longer commenting on firmware updates.
