我覺得Alan看錯市...
現在的HDD DVD recorder都9成儲在harddisk看, 電視都係看完就算..DVD 都只係用來backup用
bluray o甘貴, 用多幾隻等於買多部harddisk 好過...
我唔知bluray rom 幾錢, 但short-term 如果 (可接受的開始價錢) $80 = 50g, then =$1.6/g
harddisk 500g, ezone 話$1.16/g 平 3成有多o拉
都不計一隻過500g search o野o甘方便.. 同快..
harddisk 過電腦有梗大的 advantage 再recode 都得
最緊要個錄影GUI 做得好 老人家都無technical difficulty及唔hang機,
Pioneer HDMI dvd recorder 之前都 $5000+

$5G for a STB with built-in HDD? I wonder who would buy it. You are talking about a premium of over $2K for STB+external HDD. Do they really think that the internal HDD worth that much to the consumers? Really crazy pricing. And the size....  |

Why would PM add record function to MTV3000 and launch MTV5000? If they want to sell more, why didn't they add the function sooner? It only make sense if PM charge for the upgrade. Otherwise, it's a stupid selling strategy.
Also, if MTV3000 can be upgraded, it is much better than MTV5000 because it has the same function but you can add any size and number of Harddisk you want! |

Various sources indicate that it will have. If I were Pixel Magic, I will partly fulfill the wishes of my customers ------ add the features of one-touch recording only, no timer recording!!! |

1. MTV3000 will not have record upgrade. Otherwise, no one will buy the MTV5000;
2. They only mark the standalone price so high. Their bundling price is around HKD2,000. They mark the prcie so high so the TV manfacturers are attracted to bundle them. They you buy standalone, you are subsidizng those who buy it with new TV.  |

其實在數碼電視web site,
還未顯示MTV5000已取得高清標籤,
而且對於一部真正的錄影機,
要有Pioneer的功能,
不單只可以錄影, 要可作後期小剪接 |

I called magic TV and they confirmed that there will be a firmware upgrade for recording on or before August. The recording function of Mtv 3000 may not be as complete as mtv 5000. He also mentioned that it requires 3.5" hd and could not use 2.5 or finger.

May be the press conference is to confirm there will be no hope for MTV3000 to have the recording function by firmware uprade. Only hardware upgrade is possible ----- buy MTV5000. |
