Good to hear that! My CRT also had some problem before! Technician came and advice me not to fix it, because he said he cannot fix it! But after he left, no problem what so ever. Therfore we can wait for good stuff coming happily!
Shall we call this syndrome "TV fatigue"?  |

This is exactly my TV's problem last time. One of the 3 PCB boards of the TV was out of order and caused a synchronization problem<<
Eddie is correct. It looks like the synchronization problem of crt TV. The video signal is pure 480i without upscaling and it has no problem at all.
Try to input other sources from dvd player, HTPC @ different resolutions to test. If the problem persist, the crt TV is likely dead. |

Sony HK imported the suspected PCB board from Japan.
I remember the terms are as follows: -
1. Inspection cost $1,200. Round trip TV transport between home and Sony Repair $300. If opt for repair after inspection, the $1,200 is deductible from the total repair cost.
2. If Sony can't fix the problem with the PCB board from Japan, you don't need to pay for it.
Frankly speaking, if I were you, I won't spend $4,600 to fix a D900 now as there are already many choices of full HD LCD / Plasma in the market. At my time (Dec '06), the timing was very odd as it was before the launch of digital TV in Hong Kong. If I did not repair it, I would have bought Pioneer 428 plasma at a price close to $20,000. Now it is only $13,XXX.
So, my $4,600 was spent mainly to buy time. An unexpected outcome is that digital TV and MTV3000 has made my Japanese TV looks so brilliant that I could not imagine when I was using a NTSC to PAL converter. |

Hope your TV is O.K. now. Your TV messed-up screen looks very similar to mine when my Sony KV-36DZ950 was out of order in December 2006. |
