Hi Li On, PeterLie, and kcichung,
My audio setting is HDMI off and Bitstream on as I'm using optical output to connect to my old Denon AV amp. For video, I'm using HDMI out to Sharp GX3. I haven't downgraded to firmware 1.06 yet. From kcichung's experience, I also suspected that it may be my TV signal strength or quality (although I'm connected from building's TV socket). After more detailed testing during these 2 days, I've the stutter problem usually during 7pm-12am, which is the peak hours of watching TV in the whole building. However, the problem became infrequent during late mid-night (eg. now at ~4:30am).
For the HDD case, I'd tried another one (ICY Dock) and it can auto shut down and power up my 640GB WD HDD now.

needu1314 hing, we understanding the confusion. In the next firmware, there will be a "auto standby after recording" option so the user don't need to remember to press "standby" button when not viewing the MTV3000.

Yes, but you could press "off" button again. This would turn it off automatically after recording. |

大家設定 定時預錄及 EPG 預錄後 按power, MTV3000 會standby
但完成錄影後理論上是會自動返回 standby mode, 但是錄影期間是否按了任可 remote鍵就不能錄影後會自動 standby. 我會有此情形的 !  |

About yr suggestion, actually I did, but it simply could not be moved to trash.
My MTV3K is always \"standby\" until I watch TV.
BTW, could MTV3K menu add an option so that we could forcefully sweep the outdated programmes to trash. |

Please find one programme in the Recorded Programme List that has a "Keep Programme Until:" date that is yesterday or earlier. Standby the Magic TV, and wake it up again. Please check that the programme has been moved to Trash.
Even if you do not standby the Magic TV, this housekeeping operation will also be carried out daily, or when you run out of disk space for recording. |

MTV3K has a housekeeping feature to help you discard obsolete program.
However, when I setup to keep some programme no loner than 1 week, I found those more than 1 week long still remains and would neither be automatically deleted nor put in the trash folder.
I wonder if it is bug of MTV3K firmware or I got something wrong.
This is one of the valuable features that appeals to me because I need not spend time to manage programme one by one. Anybody could help?! |

買了 MTV3000 3 星期. 一直都是用色差 1080I 輸出, firmware 2.0beta. 原本一切正常.
但昨天開始, 觀看一段時間後畫面開始變色. 再下去會沒有畫面, 電視會顯示沒有訊號.
要關 MTV3000 總電源再開才變回正常. 但一段時間後(約30分鐘), 問題再出現. 試過上 firmware 2.01 beta. 問題一樣出現.
但 HDMI (接老舊電視的唯一 DVI-HDCP , 原接PS3), 就暫時未有問題.
請問其他人有沒有遇過同樣問題? 是過熱還是 DAC 壞了?

I also have a reboot on firmware 2.01b when I press the menu key on remote before the schedule starting recording in 1-2 minutes later. This is my 1st time experience. And I'm just use it for 20days. Don't know is due to 2.01b firmware or not.

I just bought my 3000 for 7 days, and today, when I was watch HD TVB, the 3000 seems like reboot(I was recording the program as well, using 2.5 HDD 160GB)....... And I already using 2.01beta firmware, whats the problem? also, if I using EPG to record the program, the time seem not correct, the program always record early and end early, what I can do? Thanks for your big help!!! |

Magic TV will format external HDD up to 500GB. If you want to use a larger HDD, you need to format it in PC as EXT2 (or EXT3) first using 3rd party software, e.g. bootable CD from www.partedmagic.com |

Now I change to use 魚骨 instead of indoor antenna. My building(單穜) have not yet upgraded to receive HD signal. |

What type of audio connection are you using? HDMI Audio, Coaxial, Optical or Analog? What is your setting of Bitstream?
Please try setting Bitstream to OFF. See if there are any differences.
If you use HDMI Audio, please try setting HDMI Audio to ON. |

kcichung hing, you said you use an indoor antenna, which may not have the best reception quality for all the 3 channel frequency of the digital TV. And you already brought the unit to our office and tested ok, and you also tried the old firmware 1.06 (without USB recording function) with the same result.
So the problem is not related to the recording firmware, and your unit works fine in our office when the antenna signal is ok.
Please try to improve your antenna, or use your building public antenna (if available) for better reception quality.

Will MTV add some basic multimedia functions, like viewing photo and play mp3 in usb drive?
Some stb in the market can even play those multimedia files over network, it sounds very attractive  |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
