MTV3000 subtitle display is correct, when low resolution subtitle graphic in a 720x576 image is upscaled on 1920x1080, it looks bad. Btw the OFTA test includes subtitle rendering.
Personally, I think the subtitle looks very ugly!  I hope more users will complain the TV station and hope they will use better looking subtitle graphic in the future!

起初是因為MTV3000的外觀和支援１０８０p使我選擇貴公司產品，及後使用了一星期，我對於MTV3000的系統、操作等都很滿意
另外，我想問－問：
1. MTV3000最新的firmware是否已經支援大於500GB的HDD(e.g 640GB)?
2. 我是否可以自行修改 tv.db 以改變我已錄製的節目清單裹的節目名稱？
聞說同時錄A台，睇B台和同時錄兩個台等功能將會陸續加入於MTV3000中，期望在奧運正式開始之前，我們已經可以使用這些功能，Thanks!

Hi Leon Lau, about the audio "stutter" issue, we can not reproduct the problem in our lab. For testing, please try to downgrade the MTV3000 firmware to version 1.06 and test if there is still the audio "stutter" issue.
For your USB harddrive issue, it seems your box does not support auto On/Off operation. You can test the USB harddrive using USB connection to a PC, and check if the USB harddrive will auto power on when the PC power up, and auto turn off when the PC shutdown.

Any c-hing has the following problems?
1) When watching live TV, the sound stutters for less than 0.5 sec at random intervals (usually around 5-10 mins). However, when I playbacked the same recorded programme, the sound stutters didn't exist! This sound stutter problem still applies even when the live TV programme isn't being recorded.
2) I'm using the Western Digital WD6400AAKS 3.5" HDD with Vibe USB/eSATA combo external HDD box (HD-301-SSC). When I switch the MTV3000 to standby, I heard the HDD spinned down for 1 second but then spinned up again. It seems the HDD didn't return to standby mode even after a whole night. Any c-hing has the same issue with this HDD and other external HDD box?

Here's a slight update of the procedure of setting the remote for Samsung, Sharp or Sony:
1. From MagicTV remote, hold both PowerOn button and MagicTV Menu button until the red LED flashes.
2. From MagicTV remote, press 1 for Samsung, or press 2 for Sharp, or press 3 for Sony. This would set the pre-programmed codes for these TV brands. (Arranged in alphabetical order). The red LED should now be off.
3. Press the MagicTV Menu button to exit learning mode.
4. See if the four learnable buttons on MagicTV can now control your Samsung/Sharp/Sony TV without regular learning.
Note: if fails, press try to clear the learned codes as per Magic TV manual P.13. then try again. Only the latest batches of remote controls support such preprogrammed codes. |

I know the MTV remote have the default key mapping for some of the brand name.
My suggestion to do this setting or learning, please follow the manual to reset the remote to default setting and try it again.

If your MagicTV remote does not behave as above, don't worry, it just might not be the latest batch. You can call our hotline 2655-6768 and we will walk you through the regular learning process as described in manual P.13.

I just reviewed ezone again and see magictv is the only few have HDMI sound out, good job. Feel more superior on spending the $$$.
I am looking for comment to the below request, is it possible?
1. hdmi only or hdmi&analog video output selection?
2. USB Harddisk Priority if connected multiple harddisk, and switch harddisk if higher priority one is full?
3. page jump when reviewing list of recorded programs, as up & down too many times if recorded 60+ programs to speed up the UI? In additional, I can see many program with dated in the past ~1901/1/1 and with recorded size as 0.1k. Is it normal?
4. Any hints if future release on DLNA server connection?

ray2006 hing, the MTV3000 remote 4 learning buttons do not care which IR code to learn. You can try learn the MTV3000 remote volume button to match your TV power button and the MTV3000 TV power button to your TV volume control. You can check if it's the MTV3000 remote button problem, or the MTV3000 remote can not learn some IR code...

I also have a similar problem as akwok, I can use the MagicTV remote to learn my tv remote (Sharp G7H) for the volume and video selection button, however, I am not able to learn the power toggle button and make it works with the magictv remote. Although, the LED on the magictv remote indicates the learning process is success, the remote still cannot perform the power control on my tv. |

I've tried several times to get MTV3000 remote learns my TV remote function successfully. If your TV remote is swapped by plastic sheet, you should pull out the TV remote from the plastic sheet to try. |

可以揀台後自動close左個epg嗎?
如果要手動按return又幾煩
如果唔按return, 再按多次epg, 有時會轉唔到台(即揀完台ok後好快好快咁再按epg) |

Is it possible to set one touch key for recording, as each time when I press recording, Magic TV always ask yes, or no to recording, that's make delay my recording.

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
