When I try to delete some recorded programs with the remote, it will delete others too. That's the problem I faced. Due to the place constraint, I gotta put 3K on the top of 5K.
-----------
Anyother solution is to use a metal plate (right angle one with one side on top and one side hanging down) to cover the IR sensor of the STB you do not want to control. |

celsius ¥S,
Thank you for your good suggestion. I didn't means to show off anything. I bought 2 TV recorders because I need to watch/record some TV programs at different channel at the same time.
When I try to delete some recorded programs with the remote, it will delete others too. That's the problem I faced. Due to the place constraint, I gotta put 3K on the top of 5K. |

hi Li On,
When will the official firmware of MTV3000 will released? any function added? |

simon73 hing, yes, MTV3000 upscale all digital TV channel, both SD and HD, up to 1080p.
kambo008 hing, as noticed in the firmware release notice, we recommend 3.5" harddrive with standalone power supply. 2.5" harddrive which draw power from MTV3000 may NOT work correctly.
plugnplay hing, the MTV3000 and MTV5000 use the same remote control and same IR code. There is not much we can do if you use them in the same room...

HI Li On,
I just bought MTV5000. I put it together with my previous MTV3000.
However, both remote controls are actually the same which can control both 3K & 5K at the same time. This really a big trouble to me.
How can I make one remote ONLY control one machine.
Please help.
By the way, 3K & 5K are so good to me. I am very proud of having both of them.
------------------
Show off!!
All you can do is to separate the two units to at least 2-3' (feet) apart,
and then point the remote at the remote sensor 2-3" (inches) in front of the unti you want to control !!!!!

Hi Li On Hing,
With the new firmware 2.01 beta, I found out a problem that during the playback of the recorded SD TV programs from 2.5" harddisk when the MTV3000 machine is just turned on, the picture will freeze with a blank screen. It will return normal until the MTV3000 machine is reboot several times. Can you solve this problem?
Best wishes |

Hi Li On ¥S
*************
looks like your MTV3000 is working fine! Your USB harddrive is quite empty so there is not much to show in the indicator. If you want to see the effect, remove the USB harddrive and plugin a small size partly or fully used USB thumbdrive and you will see the HDD indicator live goes up!
***************
Ar, I understand now. empty indicator mean a lot of space in the HDD.
Next question, please forgive me.
If there any plan to reduce standby power consumption? Is it possible.
I am thinking of swith off the unit if not use for the time being. |

The capacity meter indicate the capacity used. A bar light will be on when 10% capacity of HDD is used for recording. |

Hi Li On ¥S
***************************
Tseoishun hing, do you mean the "harddrive space indicator" does not work? Or your USB harddrive does not work with the MTV3000 recording firmware?
*********************************
I am sorry that I did not made the question clear.
I mean the "harddrive space indicator" does not work.
In the recording page, it is correctly show how may hours of HD program I can record, something like 89 hours. But the harddrive space indicator is empty.

Tseoishun hing, do you mean the "harddrive space indicator" does not work? Or your USB harddrive does not work with the MTV3000 recording firmware? When you connect the USB harddrive to the MTV3000, after a few seconds, the TV screen should popup a message "USB detected and ready to use", or "USB detected but must be format".
If the MTV3000 "hang" (no remote control respond) on connecting USB harddrive, you may need to format the USB harddrive on a PC in NTFS format, then connect to the MTV3000 and using the internal Format to format again.

Li On |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
Please post any question about the upcoming MTV3000 recording firmware here! Thanks in advance.
regards,
Li On
