我部 MTV3000 風扇好噪, 依家有時睇睇下電視會閃下閃下, 要熄過再開先得.
仲有依家有時錄野, 錄到一段時間就會hang up 左......隻buffalo harddisk 會長閃紅燈, 兩樣野都要熄過再開先回復正常.
我想問下係唔係overheat, 令到咁樣 ???

thanks . the sound problem was solved after using firmware 2.06 .
the picutre quality problem was solved too. It becomes stable after changing to 1080i60 instead of default 1080i50 .

Hi Li-On,
I find that the time-shift function very useful. However it has some annoying issue.
A. Sometime when I use time-shift, I just want to time-shift the curreny TV Programme. But now if I don't press STOP, seems that the MTV3000 will continue recording forever. Could there be options to choose like:
1. Start time-shift normally
2. Start time-shift only current TV programme (according to EPG),
3. Cancel
when pressing the pause button?
B. When I press STOP the time-shift function, there is still a copy of the recording video in the HDD. I have to go to the MTV3000 menu and delete it manually... evertime. Can the time-shift file be deleted/sent to trash automatically every time I finish the time-shift function?

Jason Wai hing, if you still have problem using firmware 2.06, then it may be a hardware issue. Please call our support hotline 26556768 to arrange to bring the box to our office to check.

Sorry for the "Recording Auto Standby" issue! It should only activate in live TV mode. The issue will be fixed in the next update! 
The "Auto Standby" is by default disabled. If the issue affect your normal usage, please disable it in Settings->Record Setup.
When the "Auto Standby" setting is Off, you can still set the MagicTV to auto standby after recording. When you finished using the MagicTV and there is a current recording, simply press the remote Power key and the MagicTV will auto standby when recording finished.

如果背後有預錄完左,
就算睇仲梗playback (timehsihft或其他錄映節目),
部機都會照樣On居居走去stand-by ar!
唔通個設計係有理冇理照熄機, 逼你去訓咩!
咁又真係會"power save"既...

我部 MTV3000 睇大概半個鐘就會無聲去 amp (via optical) , 只有紅白線有聲, 轉一轉台就變返無事.
係83台睇字幕時, 畫面上下 會間歇變形. 係85台睇字幕時, 情況會好些, 畫面只會會間中有一兩條黑線.

It's not a stupid/careless bug. Autostandby is a nice power saving feature. You can set it off if you don't like.
Setting>recording setup>autostandby>off.

自己換大D HARD-DISK >>> 我諗會幾困難同好危險, 如果 500G 唔夠用 (其實換大幾多都會遲早唔夠),
對我黎講 500G 已經一早爆晒LA, 淨係一個奧運我已經用左兩個 640G 了, 加多一個"裸族"外置 harddisk, 要幾大都可以有幾大LA,
在未有真正最新 edit function firmware 之前用 mtv5000 做backup覺得有點兒麻煩同時間較長,
但現在真是太好了, 比 mtv3000 更方便做 backup (我兩者都有) |

Talking about wishes of new features, is it possible to change the title of the recorded programmes? I just have a lot of Olympic 2008 recordings and it is at present not possible to tell at a glance what content is inside.
Or is it already one of the existing features that I have overlooked? |

MTV3000 firmware version: Latest 2.06 and conducted factory reset after upgrade.
USB HDD: Buffalo DriveStation Pro 500 GBytes
Formatted by MTV3000 after bought in and connect to MTV3000.
"please power off the MTV3000 from the back panel power switch, and power off the USB harddrive. Then turn On the MTV3000. When you see the MTV3000 TV picture, turn On the USB harddrive and see if the MTV3000 can detect the USB harddrive." I have tried even unplug the USB connection and reconnect it again but not working. I've EXT2 driver installed on my PC already, even my PC cannot read the content of the HDD now.
"USB harddrive may simply fail due to it's own hardware problem" The random hang problem has trouble me long already. I use WD MyBook Home and thought it may be HDD problem and replaced with a Buffalo to try. The same random hang problem persist, just outcome this time is the even more serious than b4...
I believe I'd better bring it to service centre to check... |

我知個POST係主講MTV3000, 但係我想問, 如果我用緊的MTV5000, 500GB唔夠用, 有無辦法自己換大D HARD-DISK, 如1TB得唔得呢?
求 Li On 兄指點迷津. 仲有套軟件新版本真係好正, 快左同埋PHILIPS終於可以一TAKE過有畫面. 多謝晒! |

hi KenckMok, please give us more info about your setup... the MTV3000 firmware version, the USB harddrive brand/model and size etc. Have you formatted the USB harddrive in MTV3000 when you first use the USB harddrive?
If you are using old firmware, please update the firmware to the latest version 2.06. If you still have problem, please power off the MTV3000 from the back panel power switch, and power off the USB harddrive. Then turn On the MTV3000. When you see the MTV3000 TV picture, turn On the USB harddrive and see if the MTV3000 can detect the USB harddrive.
If all test fail, you can bring the MTV3000 and the USB harddrive to our office to check. Please call our hotline 26556768 to arrange.
Sometime, if you are really unlucky, the USB harddrive may simply fail due to it's own hardware problem.

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
