I live in Tsuen Wan and using indoor antenna with my MTV3000.
For SD Signal, the audio output would stop and resume occasionally.
I have brought it to PM for checking. They said no problem.
Is signal not stable in Tsuen Wan?
Or changing antenna instead of indoor type?!
Please help! Li On

Indoor antenna is not reliable.
YOu wasted time to take it for test.
You have to use building antenna.
If you are in old "tong lau", try fishbone antenna, ad signal amplifier. |

MTV3000 is not a media player.
Apart from the one it records, I do not think it can play any other file.
If you want a media player, PS3 is the best/cheapest choice. |

looking hing, for a long period of time, there may be many reasons... such as if there is a power outage, the MTV3000 will remain ON after power restore. If the last recording for some reason cause the system to auto reboot, then it will also keep in ON mode.. etc.
Please also enable the "Sleep Timer" function to increase the chance of auto standby!

thanks, 只是好奇問問。因我最近幫朋友多買一隻 mtv3000，家中兩隻 mtv3000 一齊用，發現舊果隻風扇聲比較大而已。

同意，mtv3000 是做得最好，其餘我睇過另外三款…可以話係慘不忍睹。不過 50i --> 60p 當然仍可改善。你的要求比我還高，我知道你一定可以解決到的。

我用緊 toshiba LCD 50i 直入好順，但係朋友部 Sony LCD，我用 MTV3000 出 50p 及 50i 直入 (Sony 試齊各種 ip convert) 相比，兩者都稍嫌仍有少少窒，MTV3000 出 50p 的「高清翡翠台」Logo 橫線會跳，而 Sony 處理的 Logo 則無事。

國人 hing, all the MTV3000 has fan! If it becomes too noisy, bring the unit in to replace the fan!
Maybe the MTV3000 50i to 60p is not yet up your standard.. but it's already the best on the market IMO. Most brand of STB does not support real 50i to 60p conversion as their decoding chip can not output as high as 1080p60. Those 1080p30 or 1080p24 is simply unwatchable due to heavy frame drop and motion stutter...
Anyway, if the display device supports 50i/50p input, then 50i/50p output from the MTV3000 should give the best result.

Hi looking, 2.5" USB harddrive which draw power from the MTV3000 is NOT quite stable. There may be random abnormal effect. Newer large size (120G and bigger) actually need less USB power than older small size 2.5" harddrive. And if you use 2.5" USB harddrive, please use EXT2 format (format in the MTV3000) because FAT32 format is even less stable.
When the MTV3000 auto wake up and record, during the recording, if there is ANY MTV3000 remote key press signal, the MTV3000 will think you are watching the STB and will NOT auto standby after recording.

不過風扇都唔係大問題，散熱都可以有方法解決。
1080p 50/60Hz 的問題先至係重點！好多人部 LCD TV 處理唔到 50i，MTV3K/5K 能否播出「順暢」的 50p/60p 是極極極重要！

我現在用東芝40G IDE HD,DIY 盒預較錄影同直錄都好順，但係試過一個節目分兩次錄，最頭痕你預較錄影完佢唔識自動熄機。唔知有冇人係咁呢？THX

Did you do anything after you have set the time and turn it off?
If you have not done anything it should record when time comes and turn itself to standby after recording.
You must have done something while after it has started recording - like pressing some buttons, or watching it. |

Your suggestion is work. If no sound on TV when in "REC" mode or "Timeshifting" mode , set bitstream to off. Sound will back immediately.
To Li On,
Sometimes sound can not output to TV through HDMI when in "REC" mode or "Timeshifting" mode but it can output to A/V reciever through optical cable if bitstream is "ON". Please help to solve it.

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
