cowegg hing, highlight a EPG program, press "OK", select repeat recording, then select Mon-Fri, Each day, or Weekend mode.
For deleted/removed recording, you can always bring it back from "Trash" folder.

hi vanischan, remove any USB drive, turn on the MTV3000, do a factory reset under Setup->System, then config the basic setting and rescan channel (for testing, do NOT use 1080p output).
If all is fine, then try the USB harddrive again and format in MTV3000. If there is still problem, please bring in the MTV3000 to check!

Hi vanischan,
Is there no signal or no signal indicator? After firmware upgrade to 2.0, the signal indicator is changed to "TV" symbol at top right corner on panel. Original location for signal indicator is changed to capacity of HDD. |

Please help me....
I had brought a 500G Buffalo before and the red light didn't go away when I switched off the TV magic, also I could not record TVB HD, so I changed to WD at the time u uploaded firmware 2.01B. Now I am in a big trouble, after I formatted the WD by the magic TV, I have to switch on the TV box through on off switch at the back of the TV box, otherwise there is no signal, even when I unplug the WD the situation is just the same. I dialed the PM customer service and there was a girl speaking in a soft voice but inconsiderate tone, asking me to bring the TV box to Shatin for inspection or pay the management fee for the on-site technical service which has no garantee that the TV box will work afterwards, then she ask me to format the WD in a computer to NTFS format which of course made the situation worse for the TV box just could mot recognise the WD.  . Please help |

I also encountered the sound off frequently when in recording
Case 1
- TV is off. MTV is standby for "預錄". Start "Recording", then turn on TV. Sometime is no sound.
Case 2
- In recording mode, sound normal. Switch to "timeshifting" mode , sometime is no sound.
Case 3
- In timeshifting mode, sound normal. Swittch to "REC" mode, sometime is no sound.
In all of above cases, sound can be recorded for playback. |

I am sorry to bother you again.
I formatted the 640G buy using the parted magic, but I could have missed something.
After I formatted the HDD, the Window keep saying that the HDD was not formatted.
I know formatted the HDD using MTV3000 will made the drive become a 500G HDD, but at this moment, this is the only option, the HDD can be recognized by both MTV3000 and Window.
Do I need to create partitions before format like window environment? This is the 1st time I used Linux based software, please for give me. |

Hi Li On, I found the following problems:
My config: MTV - HDMI - Onkyo674 - HDMI - Samsung 32"LCD.
MTV setting: 720P, 50hz
MTV keep "on" status.
1. I upgrade the firmware to 2.0 one week ago, but I found the video and sound signal would off frequently. I tried differnt metod to solve:
a) to restore to factory reset; all channels unstable
b) to upgrade firmware 2.01; all channels unstable
c) to downgrade to firmware 1.06; CH85 HD channel is still unstable, but other channels seems ok.
Please help. |

The explore2fs program described in the link you given is an application (not a driver) that allows you to copy some files from EXT2/3 HDD to Windows HDD. If I'm not mistaken, my understanding is that it does not allow other programs or Windows Explorer to directly access the EXT2/3 files without copying. So it does not allow Windows to natively access EXT2/3.
davidtlwong is right - Windows need a driver to let Explorer or other programs to natively access EXT2/3. Some people recommend http://www.fs-driver.org/
Alternatively, this driver can also be used with more options (but probably more complex):
http://ext2fsd.sourceforge.net/
Do not install both http://www.fs-driver.org/ and http://ext2fsd.sourceforge.net/
All these stuff is so complicated.  |

EXT2/EXT3 both are not window fromat but more steady and smooth.
We do not use window NTFS because it do not reconized by our MTV3000. We do not use FAT32 because EXT2/EXT3 both are better.
MTV3000 can only help you to foamat a hard disk in EXT2 up to 500G but MTV3000 can use a pre formatted hard disk over 500G.
This is why we use PartedMagic to format bacaue it help you to fromat over 500G.
Please connect you buffalo to your PC again make sure your window recongized your buffalo.
Please put the bootable ParkedMagic disk in your PC, reboot your PC in ParkedMagic programme envoirment, format the buffalo back to 640G in EXT2/EXT3. ( Use the procedure I replied to you before. )
After format completed, connect it back to MTV3000 and please do not use MTV3000 to format that buffallo again ( if you do that again it will go down to 500G ).
Investigate your buffalo 640G can record 100 hours HD TV programme.

MTV can only format up 500G of harddisk.
If you want to use all 640G, you hve to format it in PC, or something else like a NAS.
It is not simple trying to format ext2/3 in a PC.
See previous posts (you need some time!). |

After formatted as EXT2/EXT3, it cannot be simply recognized by Windows. Windows needs driver for that.
Just plug the EXT2/EXT3 formatted disk to MTV, then you can use it as is |

I finally made up mu mind to keep the buffalo 640G.
So I unpacked it, fire up the live CD with the instruction given by Peter.
I think I have already formatted the drive, the drive was detected but when I try to access it, the PC(Vista) always said that the disc has not been formatted and ask me to format it.
I finally formatted the disc using MTV3000's format function, now it can be recorded and also recognized by my PC properly. I also tested a small file transfer and it is ok. But is is only 500G at this moment.
Can C-hings tell me what I done wrong. and what is the correct way of formatting the disk using PC?

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
