今晚用個TimeShift功能, 睇向世界出發. 當我按"Skip前"同"Skip後"制飛廣告後, 睇睇下MTV3000突然停左(Reboot with MAGIC TV on Front Panel).
個HardDisk淨低一個5分鐘既File. 之後每次Play個File, 部MTV3000就再Reboot.
希望新Firmware會改善喇. |

I use Maxtor Basic 500G~~
~when I start On MTV 3000,, Maxtor Green light on...
when I use stand by MTV 3000,, the Green llight off..
Use Maxtor 500g...until now.....Very good,No any Problems!! |

Hi Li on hing,
As you said swithch the output format to 1080i 50hz will solve the problem of the updated TVB HD program. But no matter which format I switched, the turn out is still the same. The screen stutter so many times and the reception for HD program is really bad...

Hi all Buffalo brothers:
I use Buffalo 640GB/Ext2.
By observation, I guess,
MTV3000 has sent incorrect message to shutown or power up the Buffalo DS.
So sometimes, the hard disk access light will show GREEN blinking light and cause the recordings of the MTV3000 go wrong.
I suggest a temp solution for this (before the next firmware update)
set the Power mode at back of the Buffalo DS to MANUAL. And swith the DS on and off manually, not by the MTV3000.
I have tried this method many times, no green blinking light show again, thus all record, playback and timeshift operations are good.
dis: waste energy.

問過Buffalo代理，佢地話standby果陣唔應該有LED著，而且著果粒LED仲係代表HDD Access，應該係有問題。
Drive Station駁住PC standby果陣係冇LED著架。
我個Buffalo HDD stanby mode 時會著紅燈喎....咁是否正常?
Buffalo sole agent "Hornington" replied that they has no idea about this issue.
May be Li On Hing or PeterLie Hing can tell what was going on.
Please help. |

As Li On said, the next firmware will have changes for Buffalo. I believe it should show better behavior with respect to the LED. Otherwise we'll need to work even harder.  |

I use Buffalo DS 500G Ext2.
The mian power switch at the back always swithced to power on.
The tiny switch at the back indicated power mode always switched to Auto.

頭先岩岩試左一個另類的方法去 Format 大過 500g (wd640g) 去 EXT2 file system:
1. 首先我用一支 2g USB 手指在 MTV3000 format 成 EXT2
2. 之後用 TrueImage 做個 Image file (我諗 GHOST 都應該得)
3. 之後 restore 落隻 640g 度即可 (一分鐘搞掂), 只用一個普通外置盒
接駁落 MTV3000 到再試晒所有 function, 全部 OK 晒.....Happy, 見到可錄影 102 hours 高清 tim
又試了一隻 2.5吋 Buffalo 120G 外置HD, 錄放全部冇問題, 不過一定要插晒 2 個 USB 至得. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend! This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
