For HD recording, 500G only for 80 hrs. To save the space, is it possible to have an option to set the lower resolution for recording? such watching 1080 but the recording is 720.

Hello.
This is my MTV3000 with Buffalo DriveStation 500G. So far I have no major problem with the 2.0 beta firmware. Just encountered 窒 once. But after performing the system reset (Factory reset) and format the Drivestation again, the problem is disappeared.
Moreover, all the recording functions (including time recording, timeshifting, play, pause, etc.) works smoothly after factory reset.
Also, I discovered that when I called out the menu after factory reset, the system works very fast... Just almost the same speed as the call out speed in firmware 1.06.
Guys may try try to use this method. |

"好大問題呀, 岩岩錄左"向世", file size show 2.5G & 26mins, fat32下應該分左2個files, 重播時係show到26 mins, 但係一開始就係尾段(應該係第二個file), 重要係重複咁播26mins. 我係set預錄, 但係係手動完結. 點算呀....... "
這個情況我己經發生了三次,都是tvb 高清台晚上預錄既節目,次次返到屋企無得睇,個video 係咁不斷錯位repeat. 係咪錄出來個video file 既index 出左問題 |

Yes, I have the same problem. I bought MTV3000 from Sogo 2 days ago, and I upgraded the firmware to ver2.0beta. The STB hang once and there are some weird lines shown on the screen during channel switch.

我琴日無野做就走去裝個EXT2FS_1_11.exe，係 Windows Properties 見到隻Bufflao DS 3.5" 500G,之後再去MTV3000 再format 1次,再用EPG錄野.....錄完再睇返....竟然無事....無"窒"....好順,之後我再試左預錄3-4個節目,playback都無問題...

我是MTV3000的買主，我喜歡MTV3000的功能，Firmware版本 2.00 Beta的發佈說明是英文版，我不懂英語。不敢主張更新升級。
希望Firmware版本 2.00 Beta的發佈說明，最好是中文版和英文版分開。方便不懂英語的買主看說明。謝謝

Same problem as me. I called the PM's Technical support, He told me that may be the the early version's hardware have unstable, need to PM company to fix it. So you may be call PM's Technical support to know haow to do.

My 3000 hang-up several times since I upgraded it to 2.0 beta. 
I have to use the power switch at the back to reboot it.
I know it is a beta firmware but I still wish PMS can fix it asap. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release! After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
