HI Li On hing,
I upgraded to the 2.06 and found that it is quite OK at moment but still found the sound stutter problem when the bitstream is ON. Switch Off will return to normal. Will it be fixed in coming version?

One minor panel display bug found:
e.g. in channel 81
press i and yellow (choose audio channel)
the available audio channels will show on the screen
now continue press yellow (but no using UP/DOWN to choose)
Result: selected audio channel is sounded correctly
but in the panel display it remains "AUDIO I (DO" but not showing the channel name
The same bug reoccur with selecting subtitles in this manner

Dear Li On hing,
when i am cutting videos of ATV 數碼channel,
e.g. 14台
those 剪接位 有畫but無聲for1-2sec compared with as those video cut in TVB channels。
Is it due to the fact that ATV using VBR in their broadcasting? Any fix can be made to next firmware of MTV?

Hi Li On,
When this occurs, the TV screen is normal. The STB can change the channel from 81 to 85. The information bar of MTV3000 also display "R" and a recording name can be found in
the playback menu (display recording...). However, the size of the recording is always "0" from the start to the end of the recording. The HD do not blink also. But you can playback
old recordings, so it is not HD problem.
I have tried to reset the STB 2-3 times, no different.
Not all chl81 follow chl85 recordings have this problem.
There are two timers in my STB got this problem.
1.
chl 81 12:30-13:00 (sat only).
chl 85 13:00-13:20 (everyday).
recording on sat for chl85 will got this problem.
2.
chl 81 17:00 - 17:33 (sat only)
chl 85 17:30 - 18:30 (sat only)
recording for chl 85 will got this problem.

Hi John,
Thanks for the detail info. But we can not reproduce the problem according to your examples. Both recordings will be recorded as expected.
When the problem you descripted occur, are you viewing the MTV3000 at the same time? Because when a recording start and if there is no antenna signal, the recording may have a normal recording length but a 0.0MB size. And once playback the length will be changed to 1 second because the recording file is empty due to "no signal" during the recording period.
You may also try to do a factory reset and try again.
Any other user having the same problem?

I think you mis-understand what i mean.
for example,
CASE 1:
The first recording is set at 12:30 - 13:00 on channel 81,
The second recording is set at 13:00 - 13:20 on channel 85.
In this case, the second recording MAY fail.
CASE 2:
The first recording is set at 12:30 - 13:05 on channel 81,
The second recording is set at 13:00 - 13:20 on channel 85 (this recording got higher priority).
In this case, the second recording MAY fail.
In above examples,
if the first recording is on chl 85, and the second recording is on chl 81, everything is OK.
if the first recording is on chl 85, and the second recording is on chl 85, everything is OK.
if the first recording is on chl 81, and the second recording is on chl 81, everything is OK.
I know this MTV3000 is a single tuner type.
In version before 2.05, if two recordings are overlaped, the MTV3000 will either finish the first recording first (if it got higher priority), then start the second, or stop the first
recording and then start the second immediately (if the second got higher priority).
But in version 2.05 or later, if the first recording is on chl 81, and the second is on chl 85, if their recording period is continous (12:30-13:00 on chl 81, 13:00-13:20 on chl 85) or
overlapped (12:30-13:05 on chl 81, 13:00-13:20 on chl 85), the recording on chl 85 MAY fail. (the result recording on chl 85 may display time length is 20 mins, but the size is 0MB,
after you play it, it will become 1 second recording with 0MB)

我上星期剛買了MTV3000,介面非常易用, 但是remote上的Aspect不能宜接選所有的畫面比例, 部份需要進入menu用可選, 當我連接了兩台不同比例的電視時, 此感到點兒不方便.
希望有下一版本可以加入此功能
(而且左右加黑邊非常適合用於電視台加入刺眼的pillar box時使用) |

Hi john,
The MTV3000 is a SINGLE tuner STB. Please read the firmware release notice to understand the limitation on dual channel cocurrent recording. Then you will understand why it can't record channel 81 and 85 at the same time.

like version 2.05 beta and 2.05 beta2, version 2.06 got the same bug.
When you set timer for channel 81 and then channel 85, if the two recordings are continuous or overlapped, the second recording (for channel 85) may fail.
if the second program is on channel 81 or the first program is on channel 85, the two recordings will OK.
Please fix it.

2.06 is a perfect build for me except the text in the recorded program list is very difficult to read when high lighted (blue text on blue background), is it possible to change to other color?

HD ready / support HD doesn't mean it supports 1080p, make sure it says it does in the manual |

One more tips. If you want to cut 廣告 while watching live TV AND recording the program at the same time, press "pause" key to go to the "timeshift" mode. Then you add X and V (tick) mark to "cut" 廣告. After the recording finished, select the "剪輯" function to make a new program without the 廣告. Finally delete the original recording.

I use MTV5000 (v1.10) firmware with component cable (6N) directly connect to panxxxx 32" LCDTV. Everything ok with 1080i. However, No signal displa on TV but with sound when i selected 1080p. How to fix it ?

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
