Hi Li On,
Do you think that if the timeshift function become a native playback function (just like the Vista MCE) so we don't need to turn it on or off the MTV3000 just reserve a amount of harddisk space for temp. swap the live video to and from the harddisk that is very useful .

My TV can accept 1080p and 1080i but I always set MTV to output 1080i.
So I try by changing STB output to 1080p and play back the recordings.
And they play normally without stuttering. So this may not be the problem.
Will it make any differnce if the STB is set to output 1080p WJILE recording? (I do not think so) |

Sorry I forot the mention that other brother in other forum say that they can see that info in the EPG of the program 奧運巨星逐個捉 of ATV using a computer program called DVBViewer, But I cann see the program description usng my MTV3000 |

The program information has nothing to do with any STB.
It is provided the TV station.
If TV station does not broadcast any information, STB cannot show it. |

I like the interface of MTV3000 very much. Much better than other STB.
I am using new 2.0 Beta Firmware, I cannot see any 節目描述 in the information. Is is a bug in the new firmware? Thx!
In addition, during 1080p (50Hz and 60Hz), the Logo of HD TVB has vibration and the screen become slow when the video is panning (fast moving). Hope this will fix in new firmware.
I have a comment, too. During the EPG list, when user press OK a dialog "EPG Recording Option" will show. I suggest to add "Go to this channel" so that I can go directly to that channel if i interest in that programme. |

joewalker hing, there is no reason why instant recording play smooth and scheduled recording playback 窒!
Also, if you set the MTV3000 at 1080p 50/60hz or 1080i 60hz, please change to 1080i 50hz. Because after TVB HD changed encoding format on Jun 12, the image may randomly 窒 or stutter when output at 1080p 50/60hz or 1080i 60hz. Recording playback has the same problem. As I said in the other post, the problem will be fixed soon with firmware update.

Hi Li On,
I have a problem as follow:
- After I started the recording, then select timeshifting function. The playback is normal. When I stopped the timeshifting function, it will back to "REC" mode but no sound. I tried to repeat the start/stop timeshifting function. The sound will back again. Have you encounter the problem ? |

My setup is Buffalo Drive Station 500Gb 3.5" HDD in Ext2 formatted by MTV3000, as I just posted in the other thread, I have experienced serious stuttering and my workaround was to power off the STB and reboot. Thereafter playback will become normal and smooth. Pixel Magic and Li On please look into this bug. |

One question may not be the recording function issue. In the audio mode(most jade hd programs), the track 1 is 2 channels dolby digital and track 2 is 5.1 DD. Are other users find the same thing.

I have the same playback problem as well. I had the STB in standby mode and set the EPG recording. But when I wake up this morning. All the program I recorded flashed. But there is no problem with live recording. I am using the Buffalo 500G harddisk as well.

I made my scheduled recordings using EPS.
I use a USB extension cable from STB, then USB cable from the extension to Bufallo, totalling more than 10'.
So the length of USB cable is not the problem. |

joewalker hing, please try case 2 and 3 in my other post. Please also try the other USB port on the MTV3000.
Does all the EPG recording has the same playback 窒, or just some recording has problem?
Btw, if you use a long USB cable, please try a short <6 feets cable.

Dear Li On,
I have tried the recording function and it is as good as my Pioneer HDD recorder. However, I would like to suggest two more functions and make the MTV3000 function alsot perfect.
1. When doing 2x fast forward, can the audio be also output at the same time, as it wil be very useful for fast review the recorded program. If 2x ith audio is hard to listen, can MTV add the 1.5x fast forward with audio output.
2. Can MTV add commercial skip function, so that press one key to toggle to skip 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min , 10 min. I notice that are no extra key on the remote control. I suggest you can multiplex the 0-9 keys to do this function.

黑熊 hing, what is your USB drive brand, size? Please try to use the other USB port on the MTV3000 and try again.
when 預錄窒, what is the recording process?
1. MTV3000 in standby, auto wake up, recording, then auto standby
2. MTV3000 in normal usage (power on), recording auto start, while recording, press remote power key to standby, when recording finished, auto standby
3. MTV3000 in standby, auto wake up, recording, while recording, press remote key to cancel auto standby, when recording finished, keep using the MTV3000, or manually turn off the MTV3000
Does the 窒 happen in which case or all the case?
When the playback 窒, is it in the beginning, middle, end or the whole recording?

I have the following problems:
- I used the program recording function. However, some of the recorded programs started late and or stopped earlier.
- Some of the recorded programs are not so smooth and hang just like the computer. I need to stop and restart again
- One question, do we need to set the time for the MTV3000 and I could not find the time set up procedure. High hands, please advise.
I use 500g My book and so far so good.
Apart from these problems, it is quite good.

I have made more than half dozen schedule recordings since yesterday and they are working normally.
Perhaps all of those have problem can state their equipment, locations so amy be we can pinpoint the possibilitites.

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
