Just bought one MTV3000 but find the component ouput is very small(not 1080) is it possible 1080 outpput via component? Tested HDMI is able to output 1080. Moreover, I have MTV5000 station in macau but I just can't set it audio out via HDMI, aleady force HDMI audio on but the HDMI audio icon never display. |

I also use Buffalo Drivestation 500G, so far so good, never had HDD power off problem, everytime I encounter any other abnormal I just reboot the MTV3000 it will back to normal. |

New test firmware MTV3000 2.05 beta2 at http://www.magictv.com/downloads/mtv3000_2_05beta2.zip
It may fix the random picture pause/freeze and sound continue problem.
It should fix random USB harddrive (which works ok using firmware 2.03 beta) not detected problem.
It should fix random HDMI no audio during recording problem.
If you have other problem when using the new 2.05 beta2, please down grade to the original 2.05 beta or 2.02a version on our website www.magictv.com

1. This is by design, not a bug. This is to avoid a known problem in Seagate FreeAgent with non-Windows OS:

Although you may not have been affected by this Seagate FreeAgent problem, quite a number of users did.
2. Next firmware will improve this.
3. Beginning from 2.05 beta, by design EPG language (and therefore recored programmed list as well) will be reset after you change the menu language. |

2.05 beta bugs:
1) Seagate FreeAgent Go MTV開時唔識 auto-sleep.
2) 有不時 Freeze 畫面。
3) EPG語言有時會reset返晒去英文。就算之前set中文，久不久就會reset去英文。注：MTV只會standby, 唔會關機。
以上3個問題2.03b時係唔會出現的。

用了2.05b後,為何改用英文操作選單後所有已錄影的節目名都變晒英文,以前的2.03b是可鎖定為中文的。怎樣將它轉番中文名呀?似乎以前的設計由用家決定節目名語言較好的。 |

早前在錄奧運節目時曾出現硬碟滿溢而預校錄影中斷,但當時MTV3000仍顯示有很多空間,查實是廢物箱內的節目仍在佔用,而MTV3000已假設該等節目早已被移除和悉放出所有硬碟空間。 |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
