Go to V Digi website http://www.vdigi.com.hk/software.htm to download the two programs. It works perfectly on reviewing the USD harddisk and play the recorded file.

Hi, I upgrade to 2.05beta and found it can't detact USB harddisk duing timer record. However, it doesn't have problem if turn on the magic TV and press manual record. I downgrade back to 2.03 and back to normal. 2.05 Beta really had bugs.
The edit function on 2.05 was not expected good to save back more space. It only added mark and skip the unwanted video.

其實每一個牌子同型號既電器又好電腦又好,都有一定既問題存在,因為每個人用機既習慣都唔同,好難一下子滿足晒所有人,我覺得有問題佢地解答到同會真係跟追已經好好啦,君不見好多公司妳有妳投訴佢有佢答唔到妳唔同妳跟,而且有好多問題可能係其他器材影響所致,同埋哩個post係大家傾大家覺得有咩問題之後睇下解唔解決到自然妳感覺上就會覺得問題多啦!!!! |

Almost all media players can play the file, such as KMplayer, windows media play, media player classic etc etc.
You just need the necessary codec and/or software/drivers for your display card to be installed. |

The Ext2 driver from this link is worked. Thanks. The computer can access to the Baffulo HD. However the recorded files cant playback by KM player. Please tell which media player can play back the MTV3000 recorded files.

其實而家MTV既2.0x beta firmware咁多問題
係咪應該話佢未有recording function呢？

Hi PeterLie,
I have identified the problem in 2.05 beta.
The problem occurs when the recording periods of two timer programmes got overlapped.
e.g Recording A: 20:00 - 21:05, while Recording B: 21:00 - 22:00
In previous versions,
If A got higher priority than B, B will start when A has completed.
If B got higher priority then A, B will force A to finish, then start at 21:00.
However, in version 2.05 beta, situation is now different since two channels may record at the same time.
That is what happen i observed,
If Both A and B are for same channel. i.e. chl 85
The result is:
Recording A from 20:00 - 21:05. OK
extra 1 second recording started at 21:00.
Recording B from 21:05 - 22:00. OK
If A and B are for two different channels. i.e. A for chl 81, B for chl 85.
Recording A from 20:00 - 21:05. OK
Recording B started at 21:00 and got only 1 second.
So recording B will FAIL.

Hi PeterLie,
After reset the MTV3000 to factory default, the recordings so far so good.
However, like 2.03 beta2, the MTV3000 will suddenly reboot while playing back recordings. (occur once after update to 2.05 beta so far)

Your comment is a bit harsh, frankly.
The function is useful to me when I need to record the content to HDD/DVD recorder, in such a way that I don't need to play those unneeded sections.
Of course it would be perfect to provide "REAL" editing function so that unneeded sections can be deleted and saving space. Per my understanding, none of the STBs has this function yet.
MagicTV, any plan to implement this function? |

What I watch the reccording I can just fast forward. It is quicker to use editing and then watch it.
A good proper editing feature is to really "cut" the unwanted part so it can be saved to harddisk for keep. |

When does it occur? Standby Magic TV, Wakeup Magic TV, or insert Buffalo USB into Magic TV?
Is your Buffalo the old version with AUTO/MANUAL switch at the back, or the new version without AUTO/MANUAL switch?
If you are using the old version, what is the setting of your AUTO/MANUAL?
In any case, please power cycle your Buffalo and see if the problem persists. |

Hi PeterLie,
I am using Buffalo 640GB, ETX2.
I found that even though I fall back to 2.03Beta2, the recording is still 1 second (chl 85). (before update to 2.05 beta, everything is normal, 1 second recording never happen before)
I also notice that the success recording is on chl 81. The fail recordings is on chl 85.
Now,
I re-install 2.05 beta,
clear the timer table,
reset to factory default,
reset all parameters,
setup all the timer programmes again.
turn off the MTV3000. (let it startup when the timer come)
I hope this will help.
i will let you know the result.

Bugs in 2.05beta.
Before update (using 2.03 beta), everything is fine.
After update to 2.05 beta, recording goes wrong.
I had set three programs for recordings (one by one) this morning.
The first program is missing.
The second program is OK,
The third program got only 1 second.
Please check,
Now, I have re-installed the 2.03 beta2.

with firmware 2.05beta, 1080p component output is a nice added feature.
But, can it be disable with a on/off switch?
because I have a Slingbox connected to the MTV3000 via component and the Slingbox can only take 1080i signal.
Also, I have a 52" Sharp LCD connect to the same MTV3000 via HDMI (1080p).

我情況同你相反,用1.04無問題,轉1.05,1.06,1.07開機有時都會出現一閃一閃的現象
我就無又拔又插hdmi線,我係熄機再開,唔得又再開....到得為止 
反而換了這1.09後,情況好像1.04一樣...沒問題了,我用的是sony的46x300a...
我唸係magictv5000的hdmi對某些型號的電視機相容性出現問題....
1.07我每次都要開完機先開電視,如果唔係9成機會係一閃一閃,又要又開又熄...
如果下次1.10又回復一樣,我寧願唔up...反正功能都差不多了... |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
