I just bought a 1TB HDD for my MTV3000 but seems it cannot show 1TB, is it not support for so big size harddisk? please advise. |

剛錄影奧運閉幕禮,在中段時電視突然顯示「錄影x小時x分停止,硬碟已滿」等類似訊息,但MTV3000的面板HD顯示尺仍有三分一空間,預校錄影內容也顯示有28小時高清磁碟空間,一時不知所措。其後在清除「廢物箱」內部份錄影節目後才可繼續錄影,但已失去了數分鐘精彩片段!
建議面板HD顯示屏和預校錄影內容提示有多少小時磁碟空間時,只顯示實際硬碟可容許錄影的空位,不應計算和包含那些節目在刪除後但「廢物箱」仍未被清除和悉放出的空間,以免產生誤會。
「廢物箱」的構思是非常好的,可救回一時錯手被刪除的珍貴錄影節目,或許MTV3000容許在錄影貯存時也可將珍貴錄影節目加上保護鎖。
期望上述建議得以接納! |

With this new firmware 2.03 beta2 test firmware, the MTV3000 machine will be hanged with a blank screen when trying to set the same program for repeat recordings once a week, everyday and etc. Really, it has no problem with one-off recording but can't work with the same program for repeat recordings. Please look into this problem.

Dear PM Staff,
Is it possible for MTV3000 to support picture-in-picture feature? As firmware 2.03 beta can support channel switching while recording, I guess that MTV3000 can support PIP as well (at least within the same broadcast frequency).

I sometimes find the magictv signal has some vertical red lines(columns) as follow.
I have to restart, then the signal will be go back to normal. Do you have any idea? |

hi all
is it possible to split a disc into 2 partitions, 1 ext and 1 ntfs for mtv3000? I created 2 fat partitions under windows but my mtv3k still format the whole drive back into 1. |

At present MTV does not support PAUSE during recording.
This must be implemented, as well as recording editing feature (cut, not hide). |

A potential side-effect of FAT32 being case insensitive but EXT2/3 being case sensitive is that you may get filenames with wrong uppercase/lowercase. Make sure your filenames have the correct uppercase/lowercase form when they are transferred between file systems. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
