I found begin from 2.01v2+ firmware (getting worse in 2.03beta) aways have "No signal" during boardcast, especially in jade channel (may be in 4 SD channel) as I usually watch TVB only.
It seems stable in the 1.06 firmware, but becoming worse on reception after upgrade to v2.0x beta

I have the same feeling, when I use the old firmware, don't have out of sync issue.
up-graded to version 2 firmwares, got intermittent out of sync.
Ho MP can solve it ASAP. |

The antenna engieer come to investigate for 4 hours and measure the tv signal strength but not found any issue and say it should be the MTV3K problem. They use another "EIGHT" STB to test but seeing no no problem. Will there be any fix there or I need to send back the STB for investigation? |

Lion and other PM staff,
It seems that some users also are suffered from the same problem like me.
I suspect that some batch of MTV 3000 have QC problem.
I suggest PM let us change another MTV 3000 for try. |

我同下面位綱友一樣, MTV3000 On左bitstream, HDMI 同 Coxial都有d窒聲, 每一次窒聲時間相佢時間都吾一定,有時一分鐘到一次有時二至三分鐘一次至二次,但三分鐘內就一定有一次,當窒聲時大約半秒或更短,窒聲時畫面就正常冇窒,HDMI 同 Coxial入TV和AV Amp都一樣窒聲. FW ver. 2.03beta. 如果off 左 bitstream行PCM就冇窒聲情况,我的訊號大約左78-85%左右.請Lion兄理解一下, 部機買左一日,我念吾會機有事卦,希望FW問題啦. |

In addition, you need to check the filename uppercase/lowercase characters. File transfer via Windows may have caused these to become incorrect and will prevent Magic TV from showing the files. If you need to find out the correct filenames, you may try to view the .tv files using a hex editor. |

When I off the bitstream, there is no "窒聲". Why?
Is it there is bug?! or my MTV 3000 ahve problem.
I checked the reception quality, it keep 80% level.
Please solve the problem!  |

stormyyboy hing, when copy/move recorded program between harddrive, if the filename contain Chinese or special characters please make sure the filename is the same after copy/move, otherwise MagicTV may not detect the recoreded program again.
You can also use member aderr tvmaker program in the thread below to manually re-create the .tv so the MagicTV will see the program again.

You can use KMplayer to play the MT3000 TS file on PC. You may also need to install a driver in your pc in order to recognise your external HDD formated in Ext2. The driver is EXT2IFS. I can play crispy sharp image on my notebook but it is so slow that the sound and picture are out of sync, because my notebook has no hardware assisted decoding. |

我都係上星期買左隻 baffalo 500G external harddisk (佢地話第二代那款) ... 返去在MTV 3000上 plug&play 就錄到 (都係用緊 ver 2.03 beta), 重可以在 HTPC 上直接認返同 play 檔案 wor~  |

其實係 format 到 6x% 佢就終止左 format !
第二次再 format 就1x% 就終止, 跟住 format 到 9% hang 機 !
但再 format 之先無問題  |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
