Thanks for your info. For the bitstream output issue, the new firmware seems fix the problem. BTW, I'd also changed some of my setup such as a new antenna (haha, see below) and changed to a coaxial cable.
For the fluctuating signal strength and quality for 586MHz but not other frequencies issue, I'd done all what you suggested before and the result was the same. I'd also called the building management and they just said that they'd also received such kind of complaints. They'd asked the contractor to checked the signal received from Temple Hill and confirmed no problem. They'd reported to OFTA and got the answered that it may because the Temple Hill signal our building received was interfered by Cloudy Hill and it should be ok after a few days (of course no since even after Aug 1, I still have the problem, and the problem seems getting even worse!!). So no hope from all parties.
Finally, I'd decided to try to DIY an antenna. The 1st pic is the antenna itself. The 2nd pic is the antenna with a stainless steel basket placed without contact at behind in order to boost the signal...  I just use it to directly plug in the MTV3k without any TV booster. For the direction, I think I'm pointing to Cloudy Hill since the normal 4 channels I received are from 546MHz instead of 482MHz. The signal strength and quality for all the channels are even better than from the 大廈天線! Most important, it's more stable. For last night, there are only a few times 爆格 for TVB HD but resume normal immediately. Even now at typhoon no. 8 hoisted, all channels are showing perfectly (checked the signals and it seems the strength had dropped a bit, but the qualities are still 100%) except those 3 TVB's from 586MHz, which had a bit more 爆格. BTW, it's still better than the 大廈天線.
Sigh... just don't know what to say.

Can ps3 play recordings in the ext hd of mtv3000?
If your HD is in FAT32 format, MTV3000 can play the .ts files even though PS3 identified it is unsupported format files. However, MTV3000 will automatically break the recorded files into nos. of segment files during recording when the files size of recorded programs larger than 4GB (due to FAT32 limitation on each file size). It is still possible to play the first segment file in PS3, the subsequent segment file will be identified as corrupted file and no more playable in PS3. I posted this issue in this thread before (may be it is off-topic) |

Anyone use NAS that can connect MTV3000 with USB2.0?
Synology DS108j work with MTV3000?

If use NAS then don't need to worry about auto on/off, NAS suppose to be on all time... but dont know the USB it's only for extra harddisk connection or what... If it works then I buy this rather than get another Mybook (I already have one but no more room)

I am not sure what you are asking.
Do you to connect MTV3000 and NAS with a cable?
NAS connects only to network, not USB, you can connect external HD via USB.
MTV can connect external USB HD.
So they are both hosts, annot connect both together. |

I bought WD 500G HDD last Saturday. I keep the original FAT32 format for MTV3000, recording so far so good. Moreover, when I plug the WD to PS3, I can play the ts file directly from WD without any problem. |

在EPG 能按個人意願去選擇英文、繁體和簡體的構思非常好(我都讚同),但該選擇應與「系統語言」獨立操作。即是說,如果EPG設定時選擇了用中文名稱,無論「系統語言」設定為中文或是英文菜單,MTV在「已錄制電視節目」和「預約錄影清單」都應以中文顯示節目名稱。
但在我的測試中發現,原本EPG設定時選擇了繁體中文名稱,當「系統語言」由中文轉為英文後,'Recorded Programme'的節目名稱能夠維持在繁體中文,而'To Do List'的節目名稱卻全部變了做英文名。可否將'To Do List'的節目名稱跟'Recorded Programme'的設計一致? 在此例子中,當「系統語言」由中文轉為英文後,'Recorded Programme'和'To Do List'的節目名應一同保留為繁體中文(跟原先EPG設定時所選擇的語言)。
我最後一條問題是:
此Firmware 2.03Beta新增了Group Operation,是用剔號(Enter鍵)選擇,但怎樣去操作'Copy'功能呢,按甚麼鍵? 因 manual和MTV畫面都沒有提及此新增功能。

好啦, 想play之際, 突然片長只剩回 0:01秒, 當然節目係睇唔到....
連續兩晚錄兩次都係咁.
已經係 2.03b , 正常我係睇到 19台 亞視高清台 的.
預錄 高清TVB、J2台 都冇問題的...

Recent firmware should have no impact to color and brightness. Please set the Black Enhancer to OFF and experiment with Image Mode setting. |

2. Set channel language in EPG first to control language of recorded programme name, as requested by other users.
3. Depends on the day of week of the EPG program you chose, of course.

TVB and ATV broadcast is 50Hz, so 24p will only make things worse.
1080p24 is only good for film content because film is shot in 24 fps.
With Magic TV supporting 1080p50, there is no reason to use 1080p25. |

1. Please turn on Auto Standby in Settings -> Recording setup in firmware 2.03 beta.
2. To have a correct clock, you need to wait for a while (after powering on) for the channel to broadcast a clock such that Magic TV will can set it correctly. If you suspect clock is not sent in a certain channel, try other channels.
3. If you have such fluctuating signal strength and quality for 586MHz but not other frequencies, please check with your building management for the 586MHz amplification. Also, see if there are things or cables nearby that interfere with your RF signal. You may also experiment with unplugging RF loop-out, and/or adjusting or taking out the signal booster.
Do the recent firmware fix the optical bitstream output to Denon AV amp problem for you? |

First of all, PS3 cannot read the HD if it is ext2/3 format.
Secondly, PS3 cannot play ts file, even if the HD is FAT32 format. |

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP.
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
