Hi MTV support team,
Will the upcoming firmware capable to format harddisk bigger than 500GB?
Just bought a buffalo 640GB tonite and it was 108 hours recording time in FAT32 with firmware 2.03, but after formatting by MTV3k there is 84 hours left only. (I'm that lazy to remove all connecting cables again from the AV rack and bring it back to my desktop PC to convert back to FAT32  )

所以咪要MTV3000 format 部 harddisk with NTFS 多一次，變成 ex2 format
ex2會穩定d，同埋一個 file 可以10GB，
但fat32就一個file最多4GB，錄一個鐘高清節目要分兩個files

我就用緊 3.5" buffalo 500GB，OK la
不過唔知點點解買番黎（已經format 左 fat 32），用黎錄過8仔，
跟住用係而家部MTV3000，插時不停咁轉（好似話係有呢個問題），
跟住在電腦再 format 一次 NTFS，再插返MTV3000，用佢再format EX2，
跟住完全無問題，一路用都好穩定，
你想無我呢個情況，又唔想出現呢個情況要搞，咪買 3.5" WD 500GB |

其實upgrade 後 1080p 畫面穩定好多, 但顏色就嚴重偏紅了, 不知大家有冇呢個問題 |

要邊個先，最先無錄影那個、開始有錄影（但不能轉台）..........

肯定可以做到，不過可能有其他考慮，
例如粒 chip 負荷問題，timeshift是否暢順（純個人邏輯猜測）

係咪用2.5" harddisk ar，
如果係就要加外電比個harddisk，
買條 Y 型 USB cable，兩個頭插曬去MTV3000後面兩個既USB port
另一邊頭connect harddisk

Added: How to access (read/write) MTV3000 Formatted (EXT2 Format) USB harddrive in Windows PC? On the PC, please install a EXT2 driver for Windows, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/
Tomorrow (Friday), hopefully, We will try to release a firmware update for the MTV3000 with USB harddrive recording function, for user to have fun with recording over the weekend!  This firmware will have some software bugs and may not function 100% perfect. Please treat it as a "beta" release!  After we collect feedback from users, we will release a update version ASAP. 
With the recording firmware, it can directly record to a FAT32 harddrive, or it can "format" a USB drive in EXT2 format up to 500G.
We suggest to use a USB harddrive with "auto Power On/Off" function. Some brand name USB harddrives we tested support the auto On/Off function, such as the Buffalo DriveStation, WD (Western Digital) My Book series, and Seagate FreeAgent series. If the USB harddrive support auto On/Off, then the USB harddrive should auto trun off when the MTV3000 finished recording and auto standby, and auto power on when the MTV3000 auto wake up when recording starts.
Generally we recommand a 3.5" USB harddrive with standalone power supply to use on the MTV3000. We also tested a few 2.5" USB harddrive size from 80G to 320G. Those 2.5" USB harddrives also work with the MTV3000 recording, with a "1 USB (harddrive) to 2 USB (MTV3000) cable" for the MTV3000 to supply enough power to the 2.5" USB harddrive. But we can NOT make sure all 2.5" harddrive can work on the MTV3000.
