Finally after one hour the firmwares in the AVP-A1HD pre-amp were updated via a LAN cable. Not much different in sound but cleaner and noiseless video with very good dark details. I will try Auddessy next week, where I was told the biggest improvement the firmware updates provide. |

the minute counter never move.still stay at 50min over night.
or i will try to update in the morning time.

After updating, you should tune your amp again in order to get the perfect experience of your AVC. |

1) Up-Date 最好是連線( WIRED ).
2) 你可以在深夜或晨早再試, 小弟成功Up-date是在上午, 但一定要有耐性,
雖然是說remain time是50mins,但最後完成要2個小時,等等吧.不防落去
樓下食個早餐,回來你會收到完美結果.
3) 以上是本人的經驗,沒有吹水,放心試吧,祝up-date成功. |

I am using Netvigator 30M Broadband + Linksys 310N Gigabit Wireless Router.
Different with you guys, I was using Wireless to upgrade my AVC all 3 times. All three times were also very smooth, fast, and no problem occurred.
As far as I know, currently, HGC Broadband customers may have problems on upgrading Denon AV Amps via LAN/wireless. |

最初我都是把Lan Cable直接插入moden處, 都是connect fail, 睇番說明書, 原
來一定要經Router, 所以經由 Router 到AVC-A1HD便會取得IP address, 便可
進行Up-date. |

你買個 linksys router 啦! 將 Boardband modem 連接到 router, 再由 router 出條 Lan 咭入 AVC. 記住 router 要 set DHCP. 咁樣你架 AVC 就可自動取得 IP address. 跟住入 menu 找 firmware update, 咁樣架 AVC 會自動 updating.
記住 be safe! 最好經 lan cable 去做update, 如果用 wireless lan 做, downloading 有 problem 時, 可能令到部 AVC hang 機, hang 咗機就要找 denon 了. |

Gears as follows:
PCCW boardband modem (no idea if it is router as it has 3 lan ports & 1 WLAN port - all of them can be used to get access to internet) for two users
Approach:
Direct connect the lan cable (straight cable) to the ethernet port of lan from PCCW boardband modem (no other router)
Problems:
I tested before the lan connection of boardband modem with computer direct with success but the display of Denon AVC-A1HD Amp shows "Connection Fail" in the firmware update menu.
I noticed from the instruction manual of AV amp that the amp is not compatiable with PPPoE and a PPPoE-compatiable router is required if the lan line is set with PPPoE. Is this a problem?
If I do need to buy a router, which brand and model is recommended.
Please advise the correct procedures for wired lan connection to update firmware through the amp directly.

AVC-A1HD 已共有3次up-date 個firmware, 每次都是從網絡直接up-date, 但
都要好有耐性, 特別是今次search後顯示要62mins, 最後要試了四次, 共用了
四個多小時才完成, 但出來的效果也是最顯著, 特別是包圍感, 好嘢 !! |

幾經辛苦Update後,所有設定冇哂,要重新再設定音場, color...etc, 有冇denon
