Thanks for great pics from Mark Hing.
Thanks for genuine information from Pegasus.
Congratulations on Luke's purchase to his need and wants.
Luke Hing,
This shipment Chung Oak has got 3 pcs of Minolta AF 35-70mm. None of
them can compete with yours. A smart buy. |

Actually, come to think of it....if you have 35-70 and 70-210.....do
you think getting a 20 2.8 prime will be more reasonable? I guess it
is also your shooting habbit that you have to consider. I use Leica M
mostly for my wide angle shots, although I have 21,24,28,35,50, I
found that the combination that I use most while travelling is
21,35,50. There are some overlaps between 35-50 for the 24-50 and may
not be the most efficient way to spend money. But if your shooting
habbit make uses of the range 24 and 28 alot, then it is a different
story.
My opinion on 24-50 remains, it is an awesome lens! |

Yup...the 24-50 is an excellent lens, it is very compact, about the
size of a 50mm macro. Check out the post that I have posted here
earlier with sample pics, I think you will like it.
This pics was from Cammeraunion Minolta Forum using the 24-50 |

Luke, Congrat! You just bought the next best thing to 80-200APO(G).
The 70-210 f/4 used the same optical formula as its manual focus
counterpart which Minolta also OEM this lens for Leica! |

Happy shooting!

Brid, I haven't checked the lens (AF 70-210 F4) yet. I got no time
to do my stuff. I'll disappear a while on this site, because I'll go
to New Zealand and then to England in the mid of this month. I'll
talk to you guys again in December.
I'll post some New Zealand photos to you guys. |

On Hing
Hung Gor is one of the shopkeepers, also the merchandiser of the
camera shop (Chung Oak) who goes to Japan for buying stuff to Hong
Kong for trade. |

On Hing
I went to Chung Oak to check the three 35-70mm Minolta MF with
following result:
1) The old version (not similar to Leica): condition is acceptable
but the colour tone is of cool pale and the contrast is low.
2) The two new version (some saying OEM Leica) : condition are not
very good with scratches on glasses.
Anyway, Hung Gor has returned from Japan today. The sourced stuff
will be arriving by tomorrow afternoon. It will be ready for sale
when you visit Hong Kong.
Have a good trip.

Yup, it is a good one alright, it is a earlier version of MC Rokkor-X,
the later ones have the letters "Rokkor-X" in white rather than
orange! The contrast is low, which is very good for me. For more
information, you can visit the Rokkor Files website
http://www.rokkorfiles.com/ . The details are here:
http://www.rokkorfiles.com/28mmf28.htm . This lens was later replaced
by MD 28 f/2.0 which is a floating element design, hence has better
control over distortion alonf the edges, but I like the the details
and color saturation of the 1st generation MC Rokkor-X better.
Basically all Manual focus Minolta 28mm are quite good except the one
with f/3.5 |

I think you meant the 70-210 /f4...that is almost identical to the
Leica counterpart. |
