I think we need not stick to chasing the true image but to having the ultimate result fit our eyes. To take DC photos by RAW simply means we wish to touch the photo without much loss. Therefore, I always set my DCs and DSLRs to my satisfactory colour output. Glad to see the Canon had widen the setting scale on 5D.
IMHO, the true image only derives from the ancient camera, such as Leica M. |

Thanks for your demo. I have adjusted the other photos using PS's auto functions in my p.c. and the result is a lot better.
But if I want to view the camera's true image, I would prefer not to adjust the image by Photoshop.
Afterall, to some extent, whether to apply post processing is still controversial.

It would not be right to go with the LX2 for concert. Its meaningless in this regard. |

Do you think the 3D feel is better now ?
The result could have better when the photos were touched on its original file instead of a resized one. |

Later on I will post some LX2 photos took by C Mui at Sapporo. For tomorrow night I may attend Art Garfunkel's concert, I shall also take your LX2 to have a second trial.

Any chance to borrow Canon G7 for a trial ? I have some feeling that G7's noise control will be a lot better than LX2 !!!

I just back home and regret to see your unhappy experience with my LX2.
The LX2 really needs a lot of cruelty in-camera settings. It's traditional symptoms of Panasonic DC. Hi-noise, low resolution....... I bought it because of its features fit my need. I have downloaded some of your photos for PS and will re-post here later. Hope you don't mind because I know that you do not like PS efforts. Anyway, the tunings should be done by in-camera settings.
Well, apart from the exposure and optical quality of the DC, the photos were well composed. Thanks.

One more !!!
Frankly speaking, my comments for LX2 are :
(1) image quality a bit loose and soft at large aperture
(2) The extra 2M pixal does not add much improvement in terms of photo quality when comparing with LX1

Today I took Birds1010 hing's Panasonic LX2 and went to NP 360. The weather is cloudy with no sun shine, a bit foggy and quite windy. So overall the sky is a grey tone.
For LX2's setting, I shoot at ISO 100 and use 'Program' mode. The photo result is ................ not so satisfactory as I previously expected.
