Hi Brother birds,
Unfortunately, I never played 14-54mm, but 12-60mm is superfast! 12-60mm is certainly a good replacement of 14-54mm, no doubt about it.
12-60mm swd and 50-200 swd are both perfect match with E-3.

Need you professional advice on 14-54 and 12-60. Would it be a lost if the 12-60 not being used on E-3? |

When Olympus could launch,
- A new body which is competitor to D3 and or 1 Ds Mark III? Or,
- Just like E-1 with CCD but have more crossover focus points and a good performance at ISO1000? |

E3 is large, heavy, tall and thick, which is against the style of a light and compact OM they are proud of. Think of the OM1, 2, 3, 4Ti. They are all compact machine with high optical performance. I really miss the old time OM.
I tried the E3 at Broadway. The size and weight are not too good for me. So E510 or E520 may be my choice on OM.

Thanks for advising. I will try to figure out some time to try.

Don't go for the 520, surely you will regret for the mysterious of E3. |

Thanks for reviewing this thread again even I myself forgot these photos. Again and again, I feel that my rating on colour rendition, saturation and contrast are higher than my requirement on noise control. Too bad that the two DSLR giants (Canon and Nikon) are focusing the development on high ISO - noise free and let down the film feel detailed photo effect. A clean and clear photo tells nothing of the real situation. Water should be wet, stone should be hard and raw,......... How can we sense it when all the things are recorded clean and clear, but flattened.
I missed the E-1 colour so much. I wish I could have chance to try on the E-3 with 12-60 and see the difference. |

Although it is a three years old hero, I like its colour rendition than a modernised DSLR which just produce clean and clear images with no film feel. However, some may say that the shadowed details could not be delivered very well.
Now I can get the feeling of Pegasus Hing why he likes the D1X so much. |

impressive ZD 14-54 lens bird hing , i have tried to compare the Leica 14-50 with this ultra good 14-54 lens and found leica is marginally better in L1 than 14-54 Om. May be the Venice Engine III have to do some job for better pictures later on, I just wonder if this ultra good 14-54 ZD lens and Leica 14-50 lens attached on 1500 MegaPixel camera and see the difference. |

Thanks to Pegasus Hing and Benny Hing for leading me to the oasis of Central.
Among all the postings, I like the following most because this photo was basically a combination of two colours : blue and green by geometrical presentation. Thanks to the artist for such beautiful production. |
