The lower photo was a cropped copy of the upper. I would invite your attention to the worm at the bird's mouth. |

Thanks for your appreciations. I took the shots at Zhao Xiang Guan (a famous 2nd hand camera shops in Hong Kong) when the two ladies were waiting for their friends (photographer) to buy camera stuff. The two ladies are models from Germany. They were happily surprised when they saw themselves being printed in the calender which was placed on the shelf.
I took the photos by RAW and used different 'Picture Style' to convert and present. It may be treated as different colour temperature. I also found it was hard to pick which would be better only depends on the usage of the photo. Ultimately, I kept a copy of black and white version which I like most.
I do not encourage you to go for Canon impulsely. Nikon is a no worsen brand. My major digital photo gears were Minolta and Nikon while Canon was I dislike most mainly because of I did not like CMOS. I like CCD to produce a better real colour depth and 3D perspective.
I was shocked by Sony to adopt Minolta, a brand that I respect most. My most investments on Minolta camera stuff were hurted. I decided to deploy the 2 flagship bodies with 16 pieces of AF Minolta lenses. Although my Minolta gear was gone, my intangilbe asset from Minolta was to know good friends through Minolta. Pegasus, Mark K, Santana, Dan Tat Daddy................. I did not like Sony because I thought they would run the Alpha mount in sales oriented. Among Sony products, I had only used the Profeel Pro 27" colour monitor.
I would feel too boring for having used with one brand because I might know what would be taking home before I left the door. So, I always have two sets of camera to obtain different colour rendition.
After deployed Minolta, I have entered into Olympus because I like Kodak colour very much (Olympus used Kodak CCD). E-1 and E-300, I get nothing specialty but only good colour. I sold the OM gear for Canon, why was it so mysteric?
Then I bought the Canon 30D and could not get used to the performance. Maybe I was using Nikon D200 at that time. So, I sold the 30D and input a set of Canon 5D with 24-70/2.8. Well, the gear was fine enough but was not my taste too. The Canon 5D gear was sold without regret.
I returned to OM again with a E-1 and a basic range of OM lenses. My did was based on a OM staff who told me that the new OM flagship model will probably be arriving in early March. But, nothing from the company announcements to prove the new flagship model that will come alive, not even some solid information. Only guess, guess........ I left OM again.
I played with Pentax K10D for few days, and sold it. The colour rendition was not my wants.
I received the Panasonic L-1 set from a good friend. The 14-50 was really good. But, we separated.
Under no choice, re-united with Canon 5D. I only played with L lenses for its second hand market being so active.
In your case, to buy a Canon system is not wrong. But I do not think Canon products are better than Nikon absolutely. The most advantages of Canon 5D is full frame that can present the original optical design of the lens and the noise control is good. Nikon system is so trustworthy, I like the corporate strategy and ethics. A.I. Nikkors and good mechanical bodies drive me to use when critical events. Without Nikon, my confidence will be lowered.
Here are some photos being taken by D200 and AF-S 300/4. Happy to share.

For your LS 3/5A, the famous Foundation stand is 24" high. Though everybody said they are a perfect match. I don't quite agree. Because some people's sofa or sitting chair at home are at a different height. So for the best result you should take into account your home's environment, furniture and then decide.
Did mini 1997 with EL84 push the 3/5A well ?

I think I have to stop photo for a while as I am concentrating in my 3/5a at the moment. Just tried the 24" height, if not toe-in, hardly can I get the 3D. Carol Kidd is now standing in front of me. |

Tried it with the 5D. Terribly sorry that I could not find new places for testing in a hurry of this afternoon. Please discuss on the result rather than the repeated scenery.
