If three lens, 200/f2.8, 70-200/f2.8 IS & 200/f1.8(maybe is an used but good one), all apear in market, are they all need to be put under "Must Buy" list?

James, that's correct. There is no point of discussing MTF curves in the laboratory. Only the pictures tell the true story. I have finished reading that thread, only too late to find myself dehydrated because of drooling too much

Birds hing, you've played with the 200/2 during an invitation by Nikon, but not keep it?????

Mark,"the shallow DOF will also have a lot of outfocused foreground and background making composition difficult". I think this is just the core of these two magic lens. If we check their MTL courve, worse than that of EF 300/ f2.8 L USM, but when we back to look at these photos, my God! they are King!

If not PS effected, it is really a magic lens !!!!!!!!!

I am curious about the depth of field, it was just made that only the lady and/or the bench were in-focus. The bokeh effect was so creamy and soft that emphasis the 3D feel.

I have played with the 200/2 during an invitation by Nikon. A magic pole.

Yes, this is one of the photos. You could see more than ten photos in these two links. I am shocked by two points:
1) Too sharp for a lens with nearly full opened aperture.
2) Too high precision focus.
The general feeling is - models look like cropped from environment and come to your nose. I never see such bokeh before.
I need these two lens for try. I show these photos to Linda and said:"My best dream is shot you like this way by using these two lens, and print them out to at least 24" into two frames, then put on our wall.
I do not know if it will become true, as one of two is discontinued and re another one, no agent in Shanghai said could import for me.

One query - oneof the photo size is about 1.2 M. I really do not understand how people could post too big size phot to this website.

Oh, I forget one thing - all these photos are made by Mark III & EF 200mm/f1.8 L USM. Here I post another photo I download from another website, which is shot by AF-S VR 200mm / f2 G IF ED

Hi James, I saw one (AF-S VR 200mm/f2 G I) in Mong Kok couple weeks ago. Price is $3x,xxx. This lens is super sharp even at wide open (F2).

I saw several photos in Xitek website, and I have to agree they are very , very poisonous!
