Let me introduce myself first, I am Review 33 member and my user name is tomboy. 

  I have been learning some useful hifi knowledge and update information from Review 33 web site

and Avbuzz web site since 2 years ago.

  I would like to share photo of my hifi system, av system and m/c used experience to all fans of these web sites

 via Buzz¡¦s ¡§Global Chinese Home Visit¡¨ Program.

 I use two 15A power supplies for my hifi system and av system separately.  

One 15A power supply is connected with 4 sockets National power bar that is connected with analog sources. 

I.e. 1000W Step down transformer (DSP - A1 use), EAD power amplifier and 8000B integrate amplifier. 

  Another 15A power supply is connected with 6 sockets Audio Technicia power bar that is used for digital sources. 

I.e. Wadia 22, both dvdps, cd transport and subwoofer. 

This power supply is also connected with Furutech 168F filter power bar. 

  It can provide clear power supply for TV and S-VHS Recorder. 

  ¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´

 you can see this 168F filter power bar and 1000W step down transformer.

 it is enclosed type spk (Celestion SL6si) for music playback.  I felt in love with her about 10 years.  

She works with Marantz 72mk2, Wadia 12 and 8000B as a perfect match partners.

 I love her airy and musical sonic performance when I am listening male/female voice and Jazz music.

  ¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´

 it is Sony HS 29¡¨ TV.  Furutech 168F filter power bar can strengthen her picture quality, 

less digital noise in picture and have sharp image.  But she has one weakness.  

The video output of the dvdp is connected with her via component cable connection.

  Her color temperature setting (HUE)CANNOT let me to be adjusted. 

That means I would like to obtain natural skin color on people in the picture

I have only one way to solve her weakness. 

  I can adjust the HUE setting of my dvdp to overcome it. 

 My Sony 9000 can do that, she has +/- 20 level adjustments. 

  My Toshiba SD-5300 also can do that but  the picture performance can¡¦t better than 9000,

the skin color on people still have some red color tone.

  ¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´

 they are Monitor Audio spks as Front spk and Center spk in my AV system.

The same brand name spks are very important it is because it can provide constant sonic performance

when I am seeing the movie. 

  I mostly like this brand AV spk, their bass drivers are made by metal. 

 They can provide dynamic and quick respond movie sonic performance for me.

  I can share tip for you, Monitor Audio spk must be driven by Power Amplifier otherwise her sonic performance

will make you disappointed.    

  ¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´¡´

 it is Solid ¡V Monitor spk.  I use it as Front effect spk and Surround effect spk.  

Do you observe her bass driver is placed upward and her tweeter is placed downward? 

  Yes, this setting of these effect spks can let me obtain more natural sonic effect performance.

  If you pay attention at my AV system, you may NOT understand why I use two dvdps.

  Sony 9000 is used for movie playback; 

it is because she has two R-core power transformers that can make her to provide positive sonic performance

 to overcome explosion section of the movie. 

  Toshiba SD-5300¡¦s 5.1 analog outputs is more suitable music concert playback.  

She can give me airy and musical sonic performance.  I always use her to listen Hong Kong popular song. 

  I think this is a cheaper way to listen these songs, one concert dvd disk contains many songs of one singer. 

To be honest, I seldom buy this kind of CD.

  Upgradeable planning, I am looking for one 3-channel power amplifier to drive my Monitor Audio spks.  

My target is Krell kav3250 but her price is very expensive.

I am using EAD TheaterMaster 8000pro surround processor to replace five-year used Yamaha DSP-A1.

EAD is one of the US leadership surround processor manufacturers.

8000pro was an ex-flagship processor two years ago.

Although she has 6.1 formats, I use her 5.1 format at my home.

I would be much appreciated her AUTO SET-UP function,

it can help me to set up the ¡¥delay¡¦ and ¡¥volume¡¦ of the 5.1 channel by set-up mic.

It spend me about a few minutes, it is very useful and save the time.

I¡¦ll use STAR to represent the sonic performance as below, 5 SATRS are full marks.

Conclusion:

DSP-A1 is worth for investment if you like using it for movie playback ONLY.

8000pro is quite satisfied my requirement in both movie and concert at this moment.
